William Davis

(Osage County jail)

OSAGE COUNTY, Okla. — Osage County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man following an hours-long hostage situation near Highway 60 and McCord Road in McCord on April 12.

Deputies arrested William Davis on assault and battery charges after he allegedly held a woman hostage in a bedroom during a domestic dispute, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Deputies were called to the area at around 1 p.m. by a family member who said that Davis had taken a woman hostage during a fight.

After speaking with deputies, the family member told deputies that she heard over the phone that Davis told the woman that he was going to kill her and then himself.

The family member then said she went to the house and upon entering, she saw Davis and the woman still fighting. The family member said that Davis had a knife in his hand and at one point held the knife to the woman’s throat.

The family member was then pushed out of the house by Davis and the woman instructed the family member to call police because she was being held hostage.

Shortly after the family member told deputies the information, Kay County Tactical Team and Oklahoma Highway Patrol arrived at the house.

Law enforcement then made verbal announcements to Davis, but got no response.

At around 4 p.m., a search warrant was signed to enter the house.

Law enforcement then breached the door and threw a flash bang inside the house.

Davis and the woman then both came to the front door and said they were in the bedroom sleeping.

Both of them were detained while law enforcement investigated the house.

Deputies said there was evidence that a fight had happened in the house.

The woman later told deputies that Davis had held her hostage and that they heard law enforcement outside the whole time, but Davis wouldn’t let her leave.

Davis was then arrested and booked into Osage County jail.

Davis has since bonded out, according to officials.
