Police close intersection

Beloit police put up police tape near the intersection of Central and Strong avenues on Saturday, March 16. A South Beloit man was shot and killed by a Roscoe police officer following a chase.

BELOIT — The name of the Roscoe officer who shot and killed a suspect after he rammed his squad car has been named by Wisconsin Department of Justice officials.

Officer Robert A. Lewis, who has 15 years of law enforcement experience, according to the DOJ news release, shot Ray Castro, 19, of South Beloit, after a pursuit that started in South Beloit and ended near the intersection of Central and Strong avenues in Beloit on March 16.
