COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The Lanett Police Department arrested a man in connection to multiple reports of breaking and entering of motor vehicles and theft of property.

According to officials, on the night of March 26, Lt. McCarley of the Patrol Division received information that Gavin Todd was in the 300 block of South 12th Street in Lanett, AL, and was possibly armed with multiple firearms.

Officials say Lt. McCarey knew that the Criminal Investigation Division had developed Todd as a suspect in the vehicle break-ins and thefts. He quickly located Todd and was able to arrest him without incident. After the arrest, multiple firearms were recovered from Todd, one of which was recently stolen from a vehicle. In addition to the firearm, other stolen property from vehicle break-ins was recovered.

Todd was charged with breaking and entering a motor vehicle and theft of property (4th degree), officials say additional charges are expected.
