EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WAND) — A man whose body was found in a pond in Altamont on Sunday has been identified.
Jacob McGuire, a 30 year-old from Montrose, was recovered by the Effingham County Dive Rescue Team just before 7 p.m. on April 14.

A passerby discovered his body and reported it to police. The Effingham County Dive Team assisted the Altamont Police Department, Effingham County Sheriff's Office, and Effingham County Coroner’s Office with the initial investigation and recovery of McGuire.
Effingham County Coroner Kim Rhodes told WAND News that a cause of death has not been released, but no foul play is suspected at this time.
