LEWISTON (WGME) - The Lewiston community continues to come together for victims of the mass shooting.

On Wednesday, the Lewiston Blue Devils softball team hosted Bangor for their season home opener.

Before the game, the teams held 18 seconds of silence, each second to mark one of the 18 lives lost on October 25, 2023.

Kristy Strout, the wife of Arthur Strout, threw out the first pitch, while his stepson threw out a baseball at the same time. Arthur was killed in the mass shooting.

"I thought that it was incredible. I was incredibly honored that they were able to do that for him. It's been a long five months and it was nice to be able to come out with my family and do something nice for him,” Kristy said.
