Jane Sauter announces bid for House 1A seat

| April 4, 2024 1:00 AM

Jane Sauter has announced her campaign for the Idaho State Representative District 1 seat A.

Sauter said she hopes to bring a fresh perspective to the State Representative office in District 1, and would like to remind voters that she is not related to the current representative for District 1A, Mark Sauter, though they share the same last name.

The differences between the two are vast, Sauter said. She is opposed to healthcare mandates that would hinder a person’s fundamental rights. Her opposition voted “No” on S1130, that would have established limitations on the ability of private and public entities to impose a requirement for the coronavirus vaccination.

As a lifelong Republican, Sauter said she is ready and willing to tackle the tough issues that are facing her district and the state as a whole. She cares deeply about protecting children from radical agendas, while supporting the rights of parents to make wise choices for their children. Sauter also said she wants to ensure that Idaho honors the importance of legal U.S. citizenship in state code. With border security being a pressing issue, she said there are decisions to be made at the state level that will impact Idaho families, and she wants to be a strong voice for defending Idahoans.

Sauter said she is concerned about the current condition of the nation and state. If elected, she said she will bring balance to the position by upholding the Republican platform, being attentive to her constituents and joining forces with the Freedom Caucus members who she said are making a difference in Boise.

Sauter said that she will legislate with Republican principles at the forefront of her decisions. She is a team player, wanting to bring sensibility, accountability and transparency to the legislative process.
