Two from Soperton dead after shooting in Vidalia

Officers say it happened on Saturday around 5 p.m. The two who died are from Soperton.

VIDALIA, Ga. — Two people are dead after a shooting in Vidalia, according to a press release from the Vidalia Police Department. 

They say it happened on Saturday around 5 p.m. 

Officers responded to a call about shots fired on East Jenkins Street and Epstein Street. 

When they got there they found 23-year-old Justin Godfrey and 18-year-old Iesha Wicker of Soperton with gunshot wounds. 

Both were taken in a personal vehicle to the hospital. 

They later died. 

The GBI and the Vidalia Police Department are investigating the deaths.
