Friday, May 17, Siouxland Chamber of Commerce, SIMPCO, Siouxland District Health Department, Downtown Partners, and the city of Sioux City are hosting Bike to Work Day which is part of a nationwide, Department of Transportation-endorsed effort to showcase bicycling as an alternative way to commute.
As part of the event, breakfast is being served in the Siouxland Chamber parking lot (101 Pierce St.) from 6:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. "Bike to Work Day" t-shirts are also being sold at the Siouxland Chamber for $10.
"If you can't bike all the way from home, don't worry, you can still participate," Siouxland Chamber Director of Events Laura Hartman said in a release. "Bring your bike to work, unload it, ride some of our tri-state trails, and then stop by the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce for a complimentary breakfast, health & fitness vendors, and a chance to win prizes."
