WITH WHAT WAS SAID DURING TODAY’S CLOSING ARGUMENTS. AND, JENN, THIS IS THE SECOND MURDER TRIAL AGAINST TIMOTHY FARRELL. IN THIS CASE, THE FIRST ONE ENDED IN A MISTRIAL IN 2019 AFTER STATE POLICE FAILED TO SHARE SOME EVIDENCE WITH DEFENSE ATTORNEYS. WELL, TODAY, THE PROSECUTORS TOLD JURORS DURING THE CLOSING ARGUMENTS THEY BELIEVE THEY HAVE PROVEN BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT THAT TIMOTHY FARRELL BEAT AND STABBED CHRISTINE SULLIVAN AND JENNA PELLEGRINI IN 2017 AND THEN HID THEIR BODIES UNDER A PORCH. MEANWHILE, FARRELL’S DEFENSE TEAM TOLD JURORS DURING THE CLOSING THEY BELIEVE THEY HAVE CREATED DOUBT WHEN IT COMES TO THE STATE’S THEORY OF WHAT HAPPENED AND WHO IS RESPONSIBLE. THE DEFENDANT THAT MAN RIGHT THERE, TIMOTHY FARRELL, HE KILLED JENNA AND CHRISTINE. THAT IS WHAT HE DID AFTER YOU SAW HIM TURN OFF THE CAMERAS, HOLD HIM RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT HE DID. THE STATE HAS NOT PROVEN TIM DID IT. AND THEY CANNOT PROVE THAT TIM KILLED ANYONE BECAUSE HE DID NOT. AND HE DID NOT PARTICIPATE IN ANY CLEANUP DURING THE FINAL INSTRUCTIONS TO JURORS THIS AFTERNOON BEFORE THEY GOT THE CASE, THE JUDGE TELLING THEM THE FACT THAT FARRELL DIDN’T TESTIFY CAN’T BE USED OR EVEN CONSIDERED

The jury now has the case in the murder trial of a man accused of killing two women in Farmington.Timothy Verrill is on trial for murder for the second time. The first ended in a mistrial in 2019 after state police failed to share some evidence with defense attorneys.Prosecutors told jurors during closing arguments Wednesday they believe they have proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Verrill beat and stabbed Christine Sullivan and Jenna Pellagrini in 2017 and then hid their bodies under a porch.Verrill's defense team told jurors they believed they had created doubt when it came to the state's theory of what happened and who was responsible.During final instructions to jurors, the judge told them that the fact that Verrill didn't testify couldn't be used or considered in any way during the deliberations or in reaching their verdict.
