FOR A NEW LARGE SCALE HOTEL AT THE AMERICAN TIN CANNERY. ACTION NEWS REPORTER CAITLIN CONRAD JOINS US LIVE FROM PACIFIC GROVE WITH DETAILS ON THE PLANS. # DAN THE PROJECT WOULD BE LARGE -- ENCOMPASSING THE AMERICAN TIN CANNERY BUILDING AND SEVERAL SURROUNDING COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS... TAKING UP MORE THAN 240 THOUSAND SQUARE FEET OF WATERFRONT REAL ESTATE HERE IN PACIFIC GROVE. COMSTOCK DEVELOPERS WANT TO BUILD A 225 ROOM HOTEL WHERE THE AMERICAN TIN CANNERY IN PACIFIC GROVE SITS TODAY. HALF OF THE HOTEL WOULD BE HIGH END EXECUTIVE ROOMS AND THE OTHER WING WOULD BE FOR FAMILY GUEST ROOMS. THE PLAN INCLUDES A BALLROOM, A ROOFTOP BAR AND TWO POOLS. 4:35 I think a hotel here would be perfect because a lot of tourists do come here to this area specifically THE OLD CANNERY BUILDING SITS ADJACENT TO THE MONTEREY BAY AQUARIUMA AND FOR YEARS IT HAS BEEN THE HOME TO AN OUTLET MALL. 12:50 despite being right on cannery row the american tin cannery doesn't get a lot of foot traffic and it is only about a third occupied with businesses THE VIABLE BUSINESSES THAT ARE IN THE MALL WILL LIKELY HAVE TO FIND NEW SPACES. 6:04 they said they'll give us at least another year but after that we are out .. I don't think -- I think we are going to get kicked out yeah SEAN CARR OWNS THE CLUB HOUSE AN ATHLETIC TRAINING GYM WHERE ALL OF THE COACHES ARE FORMER PROS... AND HE SAYS FINDING A NEW SPACE WON'T BE EASY. 7:45 so we are looking out by the airport and we're looking at Sand City -- I've been looking everywhere but it is tough OTHER BUSINESSES IN THE MALL ARE HOPING THEY MIGHT BE ABLE SNAG A SPOT IN THE 20 SQUARE FEET OF STREET RETAIL SPACE INCLUDE IN THE hotel PLANS. 2:52 great location for me because all of my tours get right out on the trail and go either that way or this way so it is perfect for me IF THIS ALL SOUNDS FAMILIAR TO YOU -- IT'S BECAUSE THIS IS NOT THE FIRST HOTEL PROJECT PLANNED FOR THIS LOCATION. THIS IS THE SAME SITE WHERE PROJECT BELLA WAS SUPPOSED TO GO IN BUT THE PLANS CRUMBLED WHEN THE DEVELOPERS STARTED INFIGHTING. IN PACIFIC GROVE CAITLIN CONRAD KSBW ACTION NEWS 8. ## IN OUR BAY A
