DEEP EAST TEXAS (KTRE) - It will be mostly cloudy and humid overnight with lows near 70.

Friday will be our last unseasonably warm day for a few days as highs climb into the lower 80′s under mostly cloudy skies with a 20% chance of rain.

A slightly stronger storm system looks to finally steer a cold front in our direction by this weekend. This cold front will ooze into the Piney Woods late Friday and push through the region as we progress through the weekend. This will lead to daytime highs coming down into the middle 70′s on Saturday before we drop into the middle 60′s for highs on Sunday.

This cold frontal passage will also bring us our next best chance of rain to deep east Texas this weekend. It looks like late Saturday afternoon through early Sunday morning is when we will have the best window at seeing our next notable rainfall here in the Piney Woods. Some of that rain may be heavy at times, but we are not anticipating any excessive, flooding rains like we saw early last week.

Rainfall amounts will average around one-to-two inches before cooler, drier air returns for the second half of your weekend on Sunday.

The brief return of cool, northeasterly breezes will bring our lows back down into the 50′s on Sunday morning before upper 40′s and lower 50′s become rather common for Monday and Tuesday mornings next week. With a return to blue skies galore on Monday, we will have some great looking and feeling spring weather back in the fold with highs in the 70′s with low humidity through next Tuesday.

The return to southerly breezes will lead to a quick warming trend by the middle of next week. That is also the time we introduce some low-end, 20% chances for isolated showers to creep back into the picture as well.
