Police are investigating after a 24-year-old male walked into a hospital with a gunshot wound on Wednesday afternoon.

Officials say on April 10 around 3:00 p.m., officers were notified of a 24-year-old walk-in shooting victim at the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

The victim was suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to an extremity, police say.

According to witness accounts, the victim was in his vehicle on Somerset Bay Drive in Glen Burnie when he was shot by an unknown male driving a white sedan.

Further investigation revealed that this was a targeted offense and not a random act of violence, police say.
