LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Local musicians and music students got to learn, connect and perform at this year’s Buffalo Grass Fest on Sunday.

The festival is designed to help grow the music industry in Lubbock.

Through a survey by event organizers, they found Lubbock artists are struggling with social media and marketing their music.

So, musicians got to listen in during seminars to learn how to grow on the platforms.

Event organizer Scott Faris said it is really a celebration of what music is here in West Texas.

“It is really cool to see something blossom and that really helpd upcoming musicians and proffesonal musicians dig in on their career and hopefully make more money get better gigs and take their music out to the rest of the world.”

The festival closed with a performance by The Peterson Brothers, and everyone who attended the event got a free burger from Nirvana.
