KALUGA. April 19 (Interfax) - Hayat Russia, a division of Turkey's Hayat Holding, launched an automated sanitary and hygiene products line at its mill in the Kaluga special economic zone (SEZ) on Thursday at a cost of 700 million rubles.

"The expansion of the enterprise made it possible to increase production capacity by 30% and create new jobs," the region's governor, Vladislav Shapsha said on his Telegram channel.

Deputy Governor Vladimir Popov said 40 jobs have been created at the mill.

"With the launch of the new line, Hayat Russia's overall investments in Kaluga Region reached 16.9 billion rubles, which makes the company one of the largest investors in the Kaluga SEZ and the region as a whole," Popov said on Telegram.

Hayat opened the paper hygiene products mill in the Kaluga SEZ in 2021. The mill produces toilet paper, paper towels and napkins, as well as base paper.
