The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter kicked off their first-ever Kitten-Fest on Saturday afternoon, which welcomed the new kittens coming to the shelter.

The event took place from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m., and was designed to give the animal shelter the resources to help nurture kittens and keep them healthy before placing them in loving homes.

Booths featuring products from local small businesses were featured at the event. For every purchase made, the vendors donated 10% of proceeds to the shelter kitten fund.

While the main focus of the event was the kittens, a $2 adoption fee was in place for all dogs who weigh 30 pounds or more. Attendees of the event also learned about the importance of spaying and neutering their animals.

Every person who donated to help support the kittens earned a raffle ticket with a chance to win one of the prizes donated by the participating local businesses.
