KELLOGG, ID. -- The Kellogg man who killed a family of four in June of 2023 has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.Â
Majorjon Kaylor pled guilty in December to four counts of 2nd-degree murder for the deaths of Kenneth Guardipee, Kenna Guardipee, Devin Smith and Aiken Smith. Kaylor pled down to lesser charges having previously been accused of 1st-degree murder and burglary.Â
In court Monday, friends and family of the victims shared statements of how the deaths impacted them.Â
Many recounted memories they have with the victims, all saying they didn't deserve to die.Â
Kenneth Guardipee's brother told the Judge that Kaylor's sentencing will finally give the family some closure.Â
Kenna's mother, Jeri Silva, told the judge her life has been forever altered.Â
"I haven't seen or heard or touched my kids in nine months. I don't get good sleep and I have bad times all day, every day. I feel he deserves life behind bars because I feel like I live my life that every day," said Jeri Silva.Â
Joe Silva, the other grandfather of Devin and Aiken Smith, told the judge, as he held back tears, that Kaylor had killed three generations of his family, ending an entire legacy.Â
He also expressed his grief over losing 16-year-old Aiken.
"I not only lost an entire family, but I lost my best friend. He was a shining star, knew where he was going and what he wanted to do," said Joe Silva.Â
The defense team asked the judge to give a sentence with consideration to parole before the sentence was issued.Â
Prior to sentencing, the judge said she reviewed other similar cases and took those decisions into account before coming to a conclusion.Â
Ultimately, the judge said that Kaylor is not eligible for parole because he executed an entire family of four.Â
Kaylor faced a minimum of 10 years and a maximum penalty of life in prison.Â
