HINESVILLE, Ga. (WTOC) - Officials say a fire in Hinesville Saturday night displaced one man and a dog.

The fire began shortly before 8:30 p.m. on the 300 block of Connor Court in Hinesville.

Officials say the home owner said he plugged in a laptop and saw a spark and minutes later there were flames.

Incident commander, James Woodard says there was damage to the living room area and rear of the home, as well as the upper level of the two-story home.

Woodard says the home owner was able to exit with his dog safely.
