Food & Wine released their 2024 list of the best cities for food and drinks in the United States, and New Orleans was ranked No. 2.

Each of the 11 cities placed for specific reasons, such as the diverse food scene in Chicago, the fresh seafood and raw bars of Charleston and the distinctive restaurant concepts offered by Los Angeles.

New Orleans dining placed because of its notable way of "bridging the old with the new," Katie Chang, of Food & Wine, wrote.

Chang noted that new concepts, such as the Bywater's coastal Mexican restaurant Acamaya expected to open this spring, are shaping the city's contemporary dining while classic spots like Dooky Chase Restaurant remain old, yet treasured staples.

New York took home first place because of its dedication to satisfy "any food craving," from burrata pizza to Korean cuisine.
