NEWINGTON, CT (WFSB) - Two men were arrested for ramming a vehicle into a Newington business so they could burglarize it.

Pasquale Sanseverino, 49, and Michal Rivera, 42, both of New Britain, were charged with various burglary-related offenses.

Newington police said the arrests stemmed from a burglary at New England Audio and Tinting on the Berlin Turnpike during the early morning hours of Jan. 14, 2024.

They said detectives performed an extensive investigation which led to the identification of Rivera and Sanseverino as suspects who intentionally drove into the business to break the front glass.

“Rivera and Sanseverino are accused of entering the building through the broken window and stealing stereo equipment from the store,” Newington police said in a news release.

Rivera was arrested on March 25 and was charged with third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, second-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny, first-degree criminal mischief, and conspiracy to commit first-degree criminal mischief.

He was held on a $100,000 bond and was arraigned on March 26.

Sanseverino was arrested on March 28. He was charged with third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, second-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny, first-degree criminal mischief, and conspiracy to commit first-degree criminal mischief in the First Degree.

He was held on a $100,000 bond and was arraigned on the same day as his arrest.
