Texas City is home to small businesses, shops, professional offices and entertainment venues housed in classic brick structures in the 6th Street Historic District.

The area once brought so much life and prosperity to Texas City’s downtown, but as the city grew west the area was neglected.

A lot of money spent on ( improvements ) but very little taxable property added. Not a smart use of tax money. Lack of parking forced growth west but 6th st. is now parking without businesses needing it.
