Saker hiring 200 workers for new South Plainfield ShopRite

As Saker ShopRites gets ready to open a brand-new store in South Plainfield next month, the supermarket operator is looking to fill 200 full- and part-time jobs.

Available positions include department managers, clerks, cashiers, cake decorators, bookkeepers and other team members for departments across the soon-to-be-opened store in Hadley Commons.

Jobseekers can submit applications online or visit a hiring center set up next door to the supermarket. Located at 6303 Hadley Road, the office is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A member of Keasbey-based co-op Wakefern Food Corp., Saker operates 39 ShopRite stores in Monmouth, Ocean, Somerset, Middlesex, Mercer and Somerset counties, as well as Dearborn Market in Holmdel, 39 pharmacies, two liquor stores, four commissary kitchens and a transit dock facility that supports its local stores.

Located at 6781 Hadley Road, the state-of-the-art ShopRite of Hadley Commons will feature a wide selection of groceries and fresh produce, bakery, seafood and meat departments.

The store will also have a prepared foods area with hot and cold food bars, pharmacy and ShopRite’s online shopping service, Order.Pickup.Deliver.

Commenting on the upcoming opening, Rick Saker, senior vice president of Saker ShopRites, said, “We are excited to build our team for the new ShopRite of Hadley Commons. Saker also has another ShopRite in South Plainfield in the Golden Acres Shopping Center on Park Avenue.
