CM Punjab approves laptop scheme
She stated that the latest laptops will be given to the students of Punjab again after seven years
Lahore: The Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Friday approved the laptop scheme.
This approval was presented in a meeting related to higher education sector reforms chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in Lahore.
In the meeting, Maryam Nawaz was briefed on the promotion of higher education, laptop and transport facilities for female students.
Chief Minister said that our goal is to build international standard universities in every district and college at tehsil level.
She stated that the latest laptops will be given to the students of Punjab again after seven years.
Punjab Chief Minister also said that 20,000 motorbikes are being given to students across the province.

Military officers, soldiers awarded with military honours
The ceremony was attended by senior military officers and families of the awardees in large numbers
Karachi: The military officers and soldiers Friday honoured with the Star of Excellence Military, the Excellence Military Medal and the Medal of Good Conduct.
According to the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) Department of Pakistan Army, a rank and honor conferment ceremony was held at Karachi Corps.
Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Babar Iftikhar was the chief guest of the event.
The ceremony was attended by senior military officers and families of the awardees in large numbers.
On this occasion, Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Babar Iftikhar also interacted with the families of the martyrs.
He paid tribute to the martyrs for their sacrifices.
According to the ISPR, the families of nine martyred soldiers received Medal of Good Conduct in the ceremony.
ISPR also stated that 14 officers were awarded the Military Star of Excellence and 19 officers were awarded the Military Excellence Medal.

Pakistan’s remittances hit $2.8bn in April
The State Bank of Pakistan stated that workers' remittances are 28 percent higher than last year's April
Karachi: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said that overseas Pakistanis have remitted 2.8 billion dollars in April.
The State Bank of Pakistan stated that workers' remittances are 28 percent higher than last year's April.
The Central Bank of Pakistan has further stated that in the first 10 months of the financial year, Pakistani workers have sent 23.8 billion dollars to Pakistan.
It has been added by the SBP that remittances this year are three percent higher than the first 10 months of the previous financial year.
