KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The NFL Draft feels different this year. Not for when the Chiefs will select -- that’ll again be the last selection of the first round -- but probably because there are not hundreds of thousands of people descending on Kansas City.

Still, the 2024 NFL Draft will be a big deal both for the Kansas City Chiefs and one local prospect.

All-American K-State guard Cooper Beebe -- who is also a Kansas City, Kan., native and Piper High School alum -- expects to hear his name called in the 2024 NFL Draft, likely in the second or third round.

Beebe told KCTV he’s talked to a bunch of teams in recent weeks, including the Chiefs, which for a Kansas City kid was a big deal.

“You watch (Andy Reid) on TV, and to get to meet him in person is an unreal experience,” Beebe said. “You watch them every Sunday but now you meet him and he knows who you are. It was kind of a surreal experience.”
