CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Right before the inclement weather came in, Natrona’s softball team managed to host a double header between them and the #4 team Cody, and it was a big chance for N-C to get an upset over, and they struck first.

With a runner on second Jaden Hartman rips this one out to right field and drives in a run for the games first score. The Fillies held the lead however, it didn’t last long as in the top of the second Cody brought out their hitting sticks.

Ellie Ungrund got more than a good piece on this one as it bounces over the fence for a ground rule double and the Fillies first score. With runners on second and third now Taydon Schoening hit a grounder down the third base line and that adds another 2 to Cody’s total. Violet Wollchlager found a pitch right in her wheel house, because she sent one into orbit for a two run homer.

No runs scored in the third, but more came from Cody in the fourth. Bases loaded up with Summer Nielsen at the plate and she had warning track power on her hit as she ripped a triple while scoring three. Cody closed out the game and never let go of the lead as they win 12-2 in the conference game.

Natrona would find themselves in a much closer game 2, however Cody rallied back with four runs in the last 2 innings to secure the sweep with a 5-3 victory.
