DETROIT – The Pittsburgh Steelers added their third offensive lineman of the 2024 NFL Draft by selecting South Dakota State guard Mason McCormick in the fourth round Saturday. 

With the 119th pick, McCormick played in 70 games for the 2022 and 2022 Football Championship Subdivision champions. He finished his career with 54 consecutive starts and 57 total.

McCormick visited Pittsburgh before the draft. The 6-foot-4, 309-pound guard has 34-inch arms. He jumped 35 1/2 inches in the vertical jump. His broad jump was 9 feet-9 inches and ran 5.15 in the 40-yard dash.

He played left guard at North Dakota State. The 23-year-old redshirted and played in three games during the 2018 season. He was a three-time captain in 2021, 2022 and 2023. McCormick, who played in the East-West Shrine Bowl, was named to the Missouri Valley Conference and Associated Press FCS All-American first teams in 2022 and 2023. 

Earlier in the draft, Pittsburgh selected Washington offensive tackle Troy Fautanu in the first round and West Virginia center Zach Frazier in the second round. 

Steelers right guard James Daniels is entering the final year of his contract in 2024.

Pittsburgh has selections at No. 178 and 195 in the sixth round Saturday with no picks in the fifth and seventh rounds.
