Murrill looks at gun

SHREVEPORT, La. - Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill was in Shreveport Tuesday touring the North Louisiana Crime Lab.

Murrill took in a wide variety of criminal forensics at work. From DWI testing to DNA monitoring to the gun lab, where computer demonstrations were given on how shell casings and bullets used in crimes are identified.

Then she took part in a demonstration herself firing a modified Glock in the firearms shooting range.

“These crime labs are incredibly important to the job we do in carrying out our promise to the people. We are going to seek justice and obtain justice for victims of crime and that means we need to have very effective professional crime labs,” said Murrill.

Murrill also cautioned these crime labs aren't like what you see on television. They are not "CSI Shreveport." They help catch real bad guys.
