A Burbank woman charged with multiple counts of child rape has pleaded guilty to two lesser charges and was sentenced to just over two years in prison, on Thursday, April 18, in Walla Walla County Superior Court.

Ashley Moedano-Padilla, 19, pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

She was sentenced to 26 months in prison, with credit for one day served, according to court documents.

The state dismissed four charges of second-degree child rape and one charge of third-degree child molestation in exchange for the plea.

The sentence was the lowest that Walla Walla County Superior Court Judge Brandon L. Johnson could issue. The standard range — which judges are required to sentence defendants within unless they have exceptional cause not to — for Moedano-Padilla was 26 to 34 months, according to court documents.

Moedano-Padilla was sentenced to 26 months on each count, but those sentences will run concurrently.

Under the original child rape charges, Ashley M. Moedano-Padilla was accused of multiple instances of sexual relations with a minor, beginning when the minor was 13 years old.

According to court documents, the victim told police the relations were consensual. In Washington, minors younger than 16 cannot legally consent to sexual activity.
