Lauren Brink Adams has been elected as a shareholder with Baker Donelson.

Adams is a member of the firm's Logistics, Energy and Manufacturing Litigation Group. She represents a range of clients in the oil and gas industry.

She earned a bachelor's in mass communications from LSU and a law degree, magna cum laude, from LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center. Adams served as a senior editor of the Louisiana Law Review while in law school.

Baton Rouge

Dr. Sanjay Juneja has been appointed to the cancer business advisory board of Anixa Biosciences.

Juneja is a hematologist and medical oncologist with Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center who hosts the "Target: Cancer Podcast," and has more than 500,000 followers through his media brand "TheOncDoc."

He earned a bachelor's in biology from LSU and a medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport. Juneja completed a hematology/oncology fellowship at Feist-Weiller Cancer Center in Shreveport.

Anixa, based in San Jose, California, is developing an ovarian cancer immunotherapy program in collaboration with Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, and a vaccine to prevent the most lethal form of breast cancer and ovarian cancer in collaboration with Cleveland Clinic.

Julie Hauser-Blanner has been named chief operating officer of Smalls Sliders.

Hauser-Blanner has more than 25 years of experience with global hospitality and restaurant companies, including Bonefish Grill, Outback Steakhouse and Front Burner restaurants. She most recently served as chief franchise officer for European Wax Center.

Jennifer Gordon has been hired by Helix Community Schools as executive director for growth and opportunities.

Gordon will also serve as founding principal of Helix AI (Artificial Intelligence) and Medical Academy in Opelousas. The school is set to open in 2025, offering classes for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. The goal is to add a grade level each year and be a K-12 school by 2030.

Gordon has more than 20 years of experience as a teacher and administrator.

She earned a bachelor’s in arts education from the University of Georgia and a master’s in curriculum and instruction from Grand Canyon University.

Jeff McHugh David Jr. will take over as executive director of the Louisiana Press Association on May 13.

David is president of the LPA board. He will replace Jerry Raehal, who is stepping down after nearly four years as executive director to become chief growth officer of OnePress, the Nebraska Press Association’s marketing arm.

David serves as president and co-publisher of the Livingston Parish News. He will pass administrative and day-to-day operations of the newspaper to his wife and mother. He has served as an LPA board member since 2018.

Sam Hanna Jr. will take over as board president. Hanna, a past president of the LPA, is the president and publisher of The Ouachita Citizen and a co-owner of the Concordia Sentinel in Ferriday and The Franklin Sun in Winnsboro.
