Longtime barbecue restaurant Cele Store closed in March after more than 130 years of history in Central Texas, including filming scenes in a “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” movie.
The store’s website said it is closed until further notice as of March 30. “Thank you to our customers for your many years of support and friendship,” the website reads.
The eastern Travis County restaurant first opened in 1891 as the Richland Saloon and was resold in 1951 to Marilyn and Marvin Weiss, according to the business. It was temporarily closed and reopened in 2008 by the Weiss’ grandson, Brandon Fuchs.
