STOCKTON SPRINGS, Maine (WABI) - Wyman’s Boxing Club is putting on a Canada vs. New England Pro-Am Show at Searsport High School on Saturday.

Kermith “Bazooka” Gonzalez will come into his six-round 126 lb. featherweight bout with a 7-0 record.

He’s trained with Skeet Wyman for 19 years.

Here’s what he had to say about the upcoming event and the impact he wants to see boxing have in this area.

“It depends on who I’m fighting. I could switch up. I can box you, although I’m a shorter boxer. I can brawl you. A lot of people say I’m Little Pac-Man. My nickname is Bazooka, but they call me Little Pac-Man (Manny Pacquaio). I throw body shots like Miguel Cotto, but I’m me at the end of the day. I’m Bazooka. I really don’t know anybody that’s like me. I say that with all humbleness, but to also inspire other people out there to just be yourself. It’s going to show that anything is possible if you keep good relationships around you, if you stay focused and have high faith. That’s what I plan on bringing to this community here,” said Gonzalez.

Doors open at 4 p.m. before the action starts at 5 p.m.

The Boxcast.TV pay-per-view broadcast will start at 4:30 p.m.
