SPRING CREEK — The driver of a classic red Cadillac convertible traveling from Elko toward Spring Creek was thrown from his vehicle and killed when he “failed to negotiate” a turn on Lamoille Highway, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.
The Thursday night crash near mile marker 6 involved no other vehicles. The classic red 1992 Cadillac Aliante convertible missed a “sweeping curve” to the left on Lamoille Highway and flipped, ejecting the driver, identified as Clint Newton, 45, of Spring Creek, who was pronounced dead at the crash site.
“There were no other occupants in the vehicle,” according to a news release from NHP Lt. Matthew McLaughlin.
He said the crash is being investigated NHP’s Northern Command East Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team.
