(Willmar MN-) Construction crews are getting ready to begin some major street projects this year in Willmar. Willmar Public Works Director Justin Deleeuw says 10th Street Northwest, from Gorton Avenue to Ella Avenue, is going to be completely reconstructed...

...They hope to begin before the end of the month and wrap things up by late September or early October. Deleeuw says the biggest project will be the reconstruction of 13th Street Southwest, along with Grace and Rice Avenues. Some of the more visible projects will be construction of a bike path along 19th Avenue from 15th Street Southwest to 5th Street Southeast, near Aldi. And Deleeuw says the city will be working with Kandiyohi County to resurface Willmar Avenue...

...Crews last week began reconstructing the far western end of Gorton Avenue and the bike path, and the Thompson Park parking lot will be repaved, and the bike path from the parking lot to the bike path along Highway 71 will also be redone. Deleeuw says due to the mild winter Willmar Public Works has been able to get a big jump on tree trimming and tree removal, and the annual plague of potholes hasn't been as bad this spring. (
