Colorado Springs police are investigating two shooting incidents on the east side of the city on Saturday, officials said.

Investigators determined that dozens of rounds were fired, but no injuries were reported in either incident.

At about 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to calls about a shooting in the 1300 block of Inverness Drive, near South Academy and East Fountain boulevards. When they arrived, they learned that two groups of people exchanged gunshots at the scene.

At about 9:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 700 block of Sequoia Drive, roughly two miles west of the first incident. Witnesses told police that three unidentified males walked up behind a vehicle and began shooting, eventually firing more than 40 rounds that hit several vehicles and at least one residence.

Neither shooting appeared to be random, police said. No arrests were announced.
