MARBLE FALLS, Texas — Hail the size of baseballs and softballs hit Central Texas Tuesday evening. Marble Falls saw some of the biggest hail and worst damage.
“This was way bigger than what we have seen in past years. This was anywhere from pea-size to softball-size hail,” said Thomas Jacobs with the Marble Falls Independent School District.
The damage was widespread across Marble Falls with windows busted on cars, homes, businesses, and schools.

At The Falls on the Colorado Museum, it looked like the storm threw baseballs at about 20 windows. Next door at Marble Falls Elementary a patchwork of hail damage was covered by noon Wednesday. Three dozen windows were busted, and the school sign took a couple of direct hits.
“A bunch of busted windows. A bunch of shattered windows on cars. Pretty much, it hit signs and building roofs. Everything was pretty much damaged,” said Jacobs.
The Life Marble Falls Church lost a long row of windows to the storm. Plywood and plastic sheets are going up at the church and across the city as people start repairing windows, roofs, and everything else that was targeted by the hailstorm.
Many people got their busted windows covered on Wednesday, but they are now facing the longer process of filing insurance claims and getting the damage repaired.
