Arizona weather forecast: Dry, windy and warm is the theme for this week

A weak passing system brought below-100-degree weather to the Valley on Wednesday and showers and thunderstorms to northern Arizona.

Overnight and into early Thursday morning, a few isolated showers will be possible, dropping down into the lower deserts and areas to the East. In the Valley, while mostly dry, a few spotty light showers or sprinkles may briefly pass through.

Temperatures will again sit just below 100 degrees in Phoenix on Thursday. Highs between 95 degrees and 98 degrees are forecast throughout the Valley with winds gusting up to around 20 mph in the afternoon.

Winds will remain breezy into the weekend and even early next week.

Starting Friday, temperatures push back above 100 degrees. Friday is forecast to hit 101, Saturday 103, and Sunday 101 degrees.

A new weak system will sit our west on Monday, again shaving several degrees off our forecast. Monday may cap around 98 with similar conditions for next Tuesday, too.

Unfortunately, the system doesn't appear strong enough to bring rain to the Valley, continuing our dry and sunny stretch across Phoenix and the lower deserts.
