4 people shot in Northeast DC

Police say a vehicle wanted in connection to the shooting has been recovered.

WASHINGTON — Four men are in the hospital after a shooting in Northeast D.C. Friday afternoon. Officers say they have recovered the vehicle thought to be involved in the shooting, but so far, no arrests have been made.

Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the scene in the 1200 block of Mount Olivet Road just after noon. That's not far from Gallaudet University. ShotSpotter technology recorded 16 shots fired in the area.

Once on scene, responding officers found three men shot. All three men were conscious and breathing when they were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their current conditions are not known. Police say a fourth victim, also a man, walked into a hospital with a gunshot wound around 1 p.m.

Police quickly released a photo of a suspect vehicle in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, of a 4-door Black Nissan Altima with the left side driver's window is smashed. Investigators say they have recovered the wanted vehicle

Police believe the shots were fired from the vehicle into the parking lot of the Circle 7 grocery store. Assistant Chief Darnel Robinson said the car never came to a stop.

Anyone with additional information is urged to call police at 202-727-9099 or text the department's tip line at 50411.
