A Texas woman was arrested after allegedly dragging a child to the bathroom by his hair and forcing his head into the toilet where he was forced to drink the water.

Claudia Velediaz-Bonifazi was placed into custody for injury to a child with intent to cause bodily injury, according to the Woodway Public Safety Department (PSD).

The boy arrived at school crying and complained about missing pieces of his hair after his head was forced into the toilet, officials said.

The arrest of Velediaz-Bonifazi came after the boy reported several incidents to school officials which started an investigation by PSD in collaboration with Child Protective Services.

Through further investigation and interviews, detectives were able to determine the boy had been the victim of several violent incidents ranging from being punched, hit with various objects and not being fed for long periods of time, PSD reported.

The boy has since been placed with a relative for safety.

The Woodway Public Safety Department thanked officials for their work handling the investigation.

"Great work school personnel for noticing and moving this investigation forward," PSD wrote on Facebook. "Great work CPS and our local Advocacy Center for assisting with the investigation. Great work Woodway Officers and Detectives for completing this difficult investigation."
