Man escapes burning Harrisburg home by jumping out second-floor window
WELL, LET ME TELL YOU FIRST, JERRY, THAT TEN PEOPLE ARE GETTING HELP FROM THE RED CROSS TONIGHT. THAT INCLUDES ADULTS AND CHILDREN. AND AMONG THEM IS 64 YEAR OLD LARRY SUTTON OF HARRISBURG. HE WAS TRAPPED INSIDE ONE OF THESE BURNING BUILDINGS. A RING DOORBELL CAMERA CAPTURED THE FIRE RAGING THROUGH THE HOUSE EARLY THURSDAY MORNING. SUTTON SAYS THAT THE FLAMES AND THE SMOKE WERE JUST TOO MUCH FOR HIM. HE DECIDED TO GO OUT A SECOND FLOOR WINDOW AFTER LANDING ON A PORCH ROOF. HE JUMPED FIVE FEET TO THE GROUND. HE HAD MINOR INJURIES CRAWL OUT, SLID DOWN AND I WAS INCAPACITATED WITH THE SMOKE, BUT I. I HIT THE GROUND. NOW, THERE WERE NO OTHER INJURIES. THE FIRE CHIEF SAYS THAT A MALFUNCTIONING HUMIDIFIER CAUSED THE FIRE. IT WENT TO TWO ALARMS AND ONCE AGAIN, EIGHT. EXCUSE ME. TEN PEOPLE GETTING HELP TONIGHT FROM THE AMERICAN RED CROSS IN

A man had to jump from the window of this burning home in Harrisburg.Ten people are getting help from the American Red Cross after flames raged through rowhomes in the 600 block of Ross Street around 6 a.m. Thursday.One of the victims is 64-year-old Larry Sutton. He was trapped inside."I couldn't breathe, and I couldn't see. I'm like, 'Hey, only one way out. If I can't get past the heat and that smoke, I can't go down the steps,'" he said.He decided to get out through a second-floor window. After landing on a porch roof, he jumped the remaining five feet to the ground."Crawled out, slid down in. I was incapacitated with the smoke, but I hit the ground," he said. He had minor injuries. "I'm lucky, but God blessed me. It wasn't time for me to go because I could've been asleep and burnt up," Sutton said.The fire chief said a malfunctioning dehumidifier caused the fire.Below: Ring camera video of the flames
