The Blaine County Sheriff's Office has invited Wood River Valley residents to gather Monday evening, April 29, for a vigil honoring a fallen Ada County Sheriff's Office deputy.
Ada County Deputy Tobin Bolter was shot and killed during a traffic stop on the evening of April 20. Bolter, 27, was the first Ada County officer ever killed in the line of duty.
Vigils in the time since Bolter's death have already drawn hundreds of people to share memories of and honor the deputy.
A GoFundMe for Bolter's wife and family had raised more than $150,000 by Monday.
This evening's vigil begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Blaine County Public Safety Facility parking lot at 1650 Aviation Drive in Hailey, the county sheriff's office wrote in a Facebook post.
"The public and all first responders are invited to join us as we pray for Deputy Bolter and all who love him," Sheriff Steve Harkins wrote. "We will also pray for the full recovery of Deputy Dallas Denney, who was seriously injured in a crash while responding to this tragic incident. We are committed to ensuring that the fallen are not forgotten, and we will work tirelessly until they receive the honor they so rightfully deserve."
