Bahrain to host 13th Asian Cross Country Championship

The Kingdom of Bahrain will host the 13th Asian Cross Country Championship today, February 29.

Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Iran, Uzbekistan, Philippines, Yemen, Jordan, India, Syria, Taipei, Palestine, Iraq, Japan, Sri Lanka, Sultanate of Oman, China, United Arab Emirates alongside with the host Bahrain have confirmed their participation.

Hosting this sports event provides perfect opportunity for Bahrain to reconfirms its capabilities and potentials to host major regional and international athletic events thanks to the support of Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA)'s president HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

Bahrain Athletics Association has accomplished quantum leaps and positive results in this field over previous years.

Bahrain cross-country team recently returned laden with gold medals from the Arab championship in Tunis. Our national team had also won the Asian championship's tile in its editions held in Japan (2014) and in China (2012).

Guest delegations including leading athletic personalities invited by BAA, arrived in the kingdom in the last two days.
