A cruel thief is being sought by police after a handbag was snatched during a street mugging in Coseley.

West Midlands Police has confirmed to Black Country Live that an investigation has been launched after the woman, aged in her 70s, was targeted in Bank Street.

The victim was left with discomfort to her hand following the bag snatch just before 11am on Wednesday, August 28.

West Midlands Police is on the hunt for the mugger after the bag snatch on the elderly woman in Bank Street, Coseley.

A spokesman for the force said: “Police were called after a handbag was snatched from a woman in Bank Street, Coseley, just before 11am on August 28.

“The woman, aged in her 70s, was left with discomfort to her hand but did not require medical treatment.
