As well as viewers developing serious crushes on host Jay Blades and wood restoration expert Will Kirk, they have regularly been left in tears at some of the stories shared by the participants as they bring in their prized possessions for repair.

This includes Geoff Clark from Sunderland who brought in a broken jukebox that reminds him of his beloved wife Marie, who died from a brain tumour seven years ago.

Taking to Twitter to share their emotions, one fan wrote: "Crying like a baby at the Repair Shop."

Another tweeted: "Honestly the #repairshop gets me crying every episode. It’s such a beautiful programme about fixing broken things and making them new again. It’s a metaphor in itself."

The recent lockdown has led many Brits to rediscover their love of DIY and there has been an explosion on social media from upcycled pallet furniture to rainbow art and everything in-between.

With this in mind, Jay will be demonstrating how people can become a bit more handy at home, no matter what their level of experience, through a range of simple demonstrations from his own workshop.
