Wisconsin Might Be Added To Chicago Coronavirus Quarantine List

Coronavirus cases continued to climb on Sunday in Wisconsin, and Illinois officials warn there may be consequences.

MILWAUKEE, WI β€” Wisconsin's COVID-19 case counts rose by 957 on Sunday, as Illinois officials warned that Wisconsin might soon be added to Chicago's quarantine list.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, 9.6 percent of all COVID-19 tests came back positive on Sunday. It's the highest percentage since July 19, when 10.3 percent of all tests came back positive.

Wisconsin recorded one virus-related death on Sunday, pushing the state's total up to 892 fatalities. The state's 7-day rolling average for virus-related deaths stands at 6.8, up from 3.7 one week ago.

Wisconsin's 7-day rolling average also reached a new high on Sunday, and now stands at 930. It's up from 838 one week ago. Milwaukee County has seen the most virus-related deaths with 427. Racine County has seen 72 virus-related deaths, the second-highest county total in the state. Brown and Kenosha Counties have each seen 50 people die from virus-related illness, according to state data.

According to an ABC 7 report, Illinois health officials said Wisconsin could be added to Chicago's COVID-19 travel quarantine list as early as the coming week.
