Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued For 3 Counties Plus Baltimore
The warning was issued after a severe thunderstorm was detected over Ellicott City Monday, officials said.
UPDATE: Parts of Anne Arundel, Baltimore and Howard counties and Baltimore City are under a severe thunderstorm warning until 10:45 p.m. Monday.
Officials said a severe thunderstorm was detected before 10 p.m. over historic Ellicott City. The storm was moving east at 35 mph, according to the warning.
During the severe thunderstorm warning period, people should go inside to stay safe from wind and lightning. Do not drive underneath wooded areas until the threat has passed, as trees and branches may fall. Roads may become blocked by downed trees, and localized power outages are possible, according to the warning.

EXPIRED — A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of Baltimore, Carroll and Howard counties Monday night. Parts of Baltimore City are also included.

The warning is in effect until 9:45 p.m. Monday, June 14.
Officials issued the warning after 9 p.m. once a storm with 60 mph winds and quarter-sized hail were detected over Sykesville. It was moving east at 25 mph, weather officials said.
During the severe thunderstorm warning period, people should go inside to stay safe from wind and lightning. Do not drive underneath wooded areas until the threat has passed, as trees and branches may fall. Roads may become blocked by downed trees, and localized power outages are possible, according to the warning.
These locations may be impacted, according to the warning: Baltimore, Pikesville, Cockeysville, Ellicott City, Towson, Catonsville, Woodlawn, Randallstown, Owings Mills, Eldersburg, Milford Mill, Reisterstown, Lochearn, Arbutus, Mays Chapel, Timonium, Sykesville, Oakland and Gamber.
