Noel H. Malone

Noel H. Malone, 84, died Saturday, February 8, 2020 in Fayetteville, Arkansas after a battling a long bout with dementia. Born on July 24, 1935 in West Point, Mississippi where he grew up. He is preceded in death by his parents, Noel H. and Louise Malone Sr. He loved and played High School sports football, basketball, and baseball. Later on he played some semi-pro baseball. He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1957 and was hired by Eastman Chemical Products Inc. in Kingsport, Tenn., now Eastman Chemical Co.. His working career was in several areas until his retirement in 1997. Plastic sales is where he started off, spent some years in the Fiber Division and ended up his work career in plastic bottling where he became a valued member of NAPCOR, a National Bottling Group, who with Eastman and others got recycling up and running in so many cities in the USA. He was proud of his work and received plaques from NAPCOR honoring him for his contribution. In retirement he spent a lot of time doing volunteer work for Kingsport, Tn community. He cooked and delivered for Meals on Wheels and devotedly for the Adult Literacy Council. When he became President of that organization he took it from an all volunteer operation to one that could hire a paid employee, thanks to the fund raising that he and so many other volunteers worked tirelessly to accomplish. After moving to Fayetteville, Ark., He did work for Habitat for Human Humanity and for the Animal Shelter… he adored animals. There was a lot of time spent in Scottsdale, Az. Where he and his family amassed so many happy memories and met so many wonderful people. Hobbies like hiking, biking, bridge, tennis and sporting events occupied much of their time over the nineteen winters spent there. As for his major focus, he was a devoted father, grandfather, and family man, We as his living family honor and treasure the wonderful man he was. Remembering his intelligence, his quick wit and kindness will be the legacy he leaves behind. The fact that his is being written for public exposure would cause him to have a good ol' southern hissie fit as he was a humble man. There will be a private family gathering later to celebrate his life. Cremation arraignments entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home.
