Juanice Francine Huff Vick went to be with her heavenly father on October 5, 2020. She was 90.

Her father was Leonard Gordon Huff of Flatonia Texas. Her mother was Eva Mai Fears of Stamps Arkansas.

She was born in Ft. Worth, Tx., and went to school in Tyler, Tx. As a child she was given the nickname “Pudgy”. When she was 16, she came to Chattanooga and enrolled at Chattanooga Central High School. She joined the Oak Grove Baptist Church and began teaching Sunday School. She graduated from Central with the class of 1948.

She attended the University of Chattanooga. She began work with Dr. Warren and became a dental assistant. One year later she was elected president of the Chattanooga Dental Association.

She married Jesse T. Vick at the Woodland Park Baptist Church in June of 1954. Together they joined the Spring Creek Road Baptist Church in 1954. “Miss Pudgy” continued to teach a Sunday School Class, sing in the church choir and serve on numerous committees for the next 65 years.

She served her church by feeding the hungry. She served her community by clothing those in need and she made certain the elderly were loved and cared for. She served her family by being a caring loving Mother and wife. She served her Lord by living through his example.

Her life was a constant example of kindness, of generosity, of forgiveness and love. Her long serving commitment to these values provides as an example for how a life of significance is about serving those who need your gifts, who need your leadership and who benefit from your purpose. There is nothing small in the service of God.

She is survived by her son Gregory Vick of Bell Buckle, TN, and his wife Eileen; her son Jeffery B. Vick of Atlanta and his wife Svetlana; her daughter Stephanie Ellen Tucci and her husband Michael Tucci. Her Grandson Jonathan Vick (Ivy) of Nashville, Benjamin Tucci of Bethel Alaska, Truman Vick of Atlanta and granddaughter Blair Vick Carter (David) of Franklin and Louiza Vick Henigman (Kris) of Los Angeles, CA. Her Great grandchildren are Henry Carter, Addie Carter, and Walker Henigman. Numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews are loved and thought of often.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Carl Hubbert officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to the Spring Creek Baptist Church, or you can pay it forward by doing something kind for someone.

The Family would like to thank Amy, Sue and Lindsey of Adoration Hospice for their care and their many kind gestures.
