NEW ORLEANS – The American Psychiatric Association added a clinical update track on sleep this year, according to Eric R. Williams, MD, of the University of South Carolina's School of Medicine.

“The reason we are putting this together is because we want to give our clinicians tools that they can take home to use right away. We often have patients with many of our illnesses — depression, anxiety — for whom sleep is an issue,” Williams, the assistant dean of student affairs and clinical associate professor of neuropsychiatry and behavioral science, said.
