Vernon Obituary: Edith Maynard, 88

Edith V. (Danielson) "Edie" Maynard, 88 of Vernon, beloved wife of the late Harold S. Maynard, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Fox Hill Center.

Edith was born in Winchendon MA, on February 19,1930, daughter of the late William and Stella (Miskewicz) Danielson. Edie moved to Ellington in 1949 and lived there until she moved to Vernon 20 years ago. A kind caring, loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, she will be dearly missed.

She leaves her children, Bruce Maynard and his wife Kim of Vernon, Roger Maynard and his wife Bonnie of Ellington, Donna Lanigan and her husband Richard of Palm Coast FL, Diane Lanigan and her husband Dennis of Palm Coast FL, and Douglas Maynard and his wife Charlotte of Stafford Springs; her sister, Priscilla Paul and her husband Harold of Winchendon MA, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Brian Maynard, her brother Edward Danielson and her son-in-law Norman Dumais.

Edie's family would like to thank the caring staff at Fox Hill Center especially Cathy, Angie and her dear friend Patrists.

Her family will receive friends on Tuesday September 4, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. at the Ladd Turkington and Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd, Vernon. Funeral services are private at the request of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
