2 Long Branch Murder Cold Cases Cracked; 3 Charged: Prosecutor

LONG BRANCH, NJ — Three people were arrested for the murders of two Long Branch residents who were killed about 25 years ago, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office announced Friday. The charges related to the murders of Ana Mejia and Nicholas Connors.

Delores Connors, her son Ted Connors and Jose Carrero were charged, the MCPO said.

Mejia was brutally murdered in her Long Branch apartment in December 1994, the MCPO said. She lived with her two young children.

Nicholas Connors was killed in his Long Branch home in May 1995, the MCPO said.

The MCPO Cold Case Unit, Long Branch Police Department and West Palm Beach Police Department investigated the murders.

Specific charges have not yet been announced. The county prosecutor's office said it plans to share more information on the cases.
