5 Places To Get Tested For Coronavirus In Essex County

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — According to the New Jersey Department of Health, as of Monday morning, 1,227 people have tested positive for the new coronavirus that causes COVID-19 in Essex County... the second-highest total in the state.
Essex County residents have been demanding more access to testing since the onset of the new coronavirus. Here are five local places to get tested for the disease if you're showing symptoms, which can include fever, coughing and shortness of breath.

DRIVE-THROUGH TESTING SITE

Last week, Essex County launched a free drive-through testing site for the new coronavirus at Weequahic Park in Newark.
The site is only open to Essex County residents who are symptomatic of the disease. County officials said 150 tests per day will be done on the following dates:

- Monday, March 30
- Wednesday, April 1
- Friday, April 3
Appointments are mandatory, and residents must arrive by car. (Learn more here)
OTHER TESTING SITES IN ESSEX COUNTY
According to an advisory from the Township of Montclair, there are also four other places in Essex County to get tested for COVID-19. Patients must be symptomatic of the illness, and should call ahead to tell staff they’re coming and to make sure tests are still available.
